For Employers
Employers can request an intake call by phone or email. The parent team will scope the request, identify the appropriate division, and schedule a follow-up with the assigned practice lead. Most engagements are scoped within five business days of the first conversation.
For Candidates
Candidates are welcome to introduce themselves directly to the division most aligned with their background. General profiles can also be sent to the BSM parent email above and will be routed to the relevant division for review. Candidates can expect an initial response within one business day and a structured intake conversation when there is alignment with active or anticipated searches.
Candidates already in conversation with one division are welcome to ask about other divisions if their background spans multiple specialties — for example, an engineering leader who is also open to executive roles, or a project manager with deep experience in a specific industry vertical. The parent organization coordinates introductions across divisions when it benefits the candidate.
For Partners and Vendors
Partner organizations, technology vendors, and referral partners can reach BSM through the same general contact channels above. Inbound partner inquiries are reviewed by the parent organization and routed to the appropriate division when there is a fit. BSM does not engage with unsolicited paid placements, mass resume submissions, or generic outsourced sourcing offers.
Hours and Response Times
BSM operates standard United States business hours, Monday through Friday. Inquiries received outside business hours are reviewed the next business morning. Time-sensitive employer engagements — for example, an executive search where the incumbent has just resigned — are prioritized for same-day response when received during business hours.
For active engagements, communication cadence is set during intake. Most clients receive at least one written progress update per week and a verbal check-in on a regular interval agreed in the engagement letter. Candidates in active conversation receive updates after every client interaction that involves their candidacy, including outcomes that did not advance them. The standard is timely communication rather than periodic radio silence followed by surprise updates.
What to Include in an Initial Inquiry
Employer inquiries move faster when the initial message includes a few basics: the role or roles to be filled, the location or locations, the rough seniority band, the engagement type preferred (retained, contingency, contract, contract-to-hire), and a sense of timing. None of this needs to be polished — a few bullet points or a short paragraph is enough to scope the conversation. Detailed job descriptions, position specifications, and compensation guidance can be developed during intake.
Candidate inquiries move faster when the initial message includes a current resume or LinkedIn profile, the geography in which the candidate is open to working, the seniority and function being targeted, and a brief note on what the candidate is looking for in their next role. Salary expectations, work authorization, and notice period can be discussed during the first call rather than in the initial email.
Privacy and Confidentiality
Information shared with BSM is treated as confidential. Candidate profiles are not circulated to clients without explicit candidate consent. Client search details are not shared outside the engaged division team. Confidential searches — including replacements where the incumbent is still in role — are handled under additional written confidentiality protocols that limit how the search is described in candidate outreach and how candidate identities are shared internally.
